Gracehoper is the new musical project from Irish producer and multi-instrumentalist Ciarán O’Rourke. Hailing from the wild western shores of Connemara, his songwriting has been inspired by the myths and folktales of the region’s islands and mountains. His sound is a post-trip-hop mélange of beats and samples drawn from his record collection, assembled on the road as a session musician with acts such as Bonobo and many others. Now based in Geneva, O’Rourke’s new Gracehoper moniker reflects a burgeoning interest in gnosticism and the occult. His aim is nothing less than to inspire a spiritual revolution through esoteric symbolism and radical mystery in music.
